Ensuring the Performance
Prior to sputter coating, the glass must be exceptionally clean. Our coater washers feature a unique water stream particle size counter that can detect minute particles and quantify them so the glass surface to be coated is pristine. The washers are so precise that they quantify and clean contaminants that cannot be detected by conventional methods and washers.
The world leader in laser technology designed and built this automated system to our precise specifications. It is virtually unlimited in its inspection capability, able to detect even the most minute particle of dust – before it becomes a defect.
Optical Properties on Each Piece of Glass
In-line inspection of transmittance and reflection allows continuous monitoring of product performance characteristics. Resolving data by wavelength, and at several points in the coater while depositing the film stack, allows for control of precise layer thickness and optical properties.
Sheet Resistance
This in-line measurement technology validates and ensures coating performance. Statistically trended, the output can be vital for process stability and root cause analysis.
Sophisticated Packing System Preserves Glass Quality
The need for clean production has resulted in a system that minimizes contact with the glass surfaces during packing. This capping system uses 90º rotators, barrel turnovers, robots and stackers to insure the proper glass orientation for downstream operations such as TCO production, where the top surfaces are generally used for the coating.
